“Alain Ayers is an artist exploring an ecology of the commons, working through objects, images, actions and writing. In a wide ranging language his research method is to address conditions of contemporary nomadic time, while describing his practice as ‘a precarious poetics of uncertainty’. An awareness he holds dear as an essential working method concerns the general purpose of labour. He writes, ‘the material knowledge of extraction, production and consumption in all forms has become established as a basis of an economy for the few rather than a thoroughly constituted and shared ecology. To work as an artist is a continuous action towards the sustainable imagining of the possible-impossible."
-Works with artistic practice and research in projects, exhibitions, commissions and education through teaching, conference, symposia and workshops.
